A close friendship was an unexpected reward for bringing AJ Shepard into the landscaping project surrounding our house in Greenbrae. Our interior designer at the time, Jessica Hall, suggested Mr. Shepard. Then several years later we built a new home on Belvedere Island and we selected a designer our Architect recommended and after several unsatisfactory associations with the other landscape professional we called Mr. Shepard again. He was immediately able to understand the vision we had. He was able to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the site. He has an amazing ability to take the existing conditions and merge his practical solutions with a creative “eye” to design a welcoming and ever changing seasonal environment. Working with SDA, Shepard Design Associates was one of the easiest and most enjoyable parts of our entire project! Spring 2007
SDA, Shepard Design Associates were faced with working within the constraints of a discombobulated construction site and were able to bring our vision to fruition. The owner AJ Shepard, provided invaluable assistance in choosing a contractor and with him continuing to do follow-up during the construction process the implementation was smooth and trouble free. Mr. Shepard was always available and made sure that everything was completed to our satisfaction. His design and construction knowledge helped to make our ideas bloom!

From the very first day when you walked onto the job site and stopped me from making a design error we have been grateful of your involvement with our project. When you suggested a solution to our pool design that cleverly established a thoughtful and harmonious connection between the house and the garden we never looked back and relied on your expert judgment for the rest of our garden.
